Thank you for considering me to care for you & your baby. It is an honor to be a part of this very special time in your families life. Here I will cover what type of services are offered, the cost & scheduling. If you have questions that are not answered please feel free to let me know.
SERVICES
BIRTH SERVICES
CHILDBIRTH CLASS ~ This is a 3-4 hour session in your home. I t is tailored to your special needs. We will cover stages of labor, dilation, effacement, station, how babies position affects labor, perineal massage to prevent tearing & episiotomies, hospital interventions and how they affect you and the baby, comfort measures for active labor, breathing & relaxation, labor positions, effective pushing & emotional responses to labor. Cost: $100
BIRTH DOULA ~ As your birth doula I will be available to you 24/7 for questions & support. This will include 2 visits in your home prior to the birth to practice massage & relaxation techniques. You will contact me when you feel you might be in labor. I will offer early labor support in your home or at the hospital. I will stay with you throughout your labor & birth. We will work together along with your family members to reach your birth goals, through the use of massage, relaxation, breathing, varying labor positions, hot/cold comfort measures, birth ball & water therapy. I will be a respectful advocate for you and the baby with the hospital staff.
Cost: $750 Half due when you hire me, other half 2 wks before your due date. In the case of twins 4 wks before due date.
If I am unable to attend your birth due to any type of personal emergency on my part I will provide a back up doula or refund your money.
POSTPARTUM DOULA ~ As your postpartum doula my main goal is helping you to rest, recover & feel confident in caring for your baby. If you are breastfeeding I will offer you support and information as well as referrals if there are breast feeding difficulties we cannot overcome. I will be available to help you with babies care, things like first baths, clipping fingernails, helping baby sleep, how to handle colic/gassiness. You can call me at any time with questions or concerns you might have about the baby or yourself. I can prepare a meal, do laundry, clean the kitchen, run the vacuum, go to the store, take you to doctor's appointments, help organize the babies room. I don't do heavy cleaning such as mopping or cleaning bathrooms. It is very hard for you to know how much care you will need so I allow for alot of flexibility in scheduling. Depending on your needs a schedule of Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Tuesday, Thursday generally works well. I will not require a contract for a specified number of hours but I do have a 4 hr a day minimum. I am available with prior notice for weekend care as my schedule permits.
Cost: $18 per hr

Carol came to help me when my daughter Audrey was 3 wks old. I was really struggling with breastfeeding and just overall care of a newborn. Carol was so kind and compassionate. She has so much wisdom and is a wonderful resource for everything related to babies. My only regret is that I didn't hire her the day I came home from the hospital. I am already planning to have her there from day one with my next baby.
